More Dustings

Despite some forecasts to the contrary, we are getting very light dustings of snow and the increase in wind has helped blow some in to cover our tracks.

I didn't go out on Thursday in the rain/sleet/snow due to a pressing dental appointment but Friday held a surprise. As I approached the top of Kosi chair, I could see that there were no tracks showing in the Basin or on Karels. After 2 quick runs top-to-bottom with Michael (our Thredbo-resident Perisher patroller), we hit the Basin as soon as it was open (and so did everybody else). Freshies were to be had - not deep but pleasant enough. By 10am the queues were huge - well it was a sunny Friday and the best snow was up top. After coffee I was offered a lift back from DHG so I joined Lynne and Marion for a most enjoyable run.

This morning is snowed for 10 minutes just after 7am. I met up with Lucky Phil and we did a few quickies down the Supertrail and True Blue, both of which were surprisingly good - well groomed and soft snow :-)

We then ventured onto the off piste from Karels to Basin. Some nice, some a little rough - it certainly wasn't Friday. At coffee (yes, it's becoming quite a little coffee-club) I was again offered a ride back from 'the horse' once more. We split into 3 groups, Penny and Lucky Phil came with me as we took the least skied and best line to avoid climbing, pushing or walking. It all culminated with cheese and crackers (thanks to Gary & Alison) and either bubbles or beer. Thanks for the beer Phil. Alas, I returned to work, whilst the others went back for more.

Late update: Lucky Phil tracking it out on Sunday morning at Karels

I've given up on the forecasts - they simply wander all over the place and their only degree of consistency is in their inconsistency . Mind you, I certainly won't try to make any predictions but I do look out the window from time to time and, as I write this report,: it's snowing lightly outside with poor vis up top.

I've got a grump-fest today. Here is one 'must-read' and two 'must-views' that you really should spend the time looking at, whilst keeping an open mind at all times.

Larry Pickering's article on Facebook "JULIA, YOU REALLY MUST GO NOW:" is quite an eye-opener not being reported mainstream.

Some of my readers think say that I'm a climate change denier, others an agnostic, then again I like to keep an open mind. I'll listen to all sides and then pick my own, not what I'm told to pick.
Talk about inconvenient truths ... Watch this 3 min video of Primary School CO2 Science 'they' don't want the public to see and know about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BC1l4geSTP8

Think that the IPCC is right because it's run by the UN? Then again ... watch this:

I don't go looking for these things. They come to me, as they have now come to you ;-)
