Click Clack Front & Back
On Sunday morning, whilst turning over in bed, I heard and felt a 'click' in my lower back where most of the pain had been emanating from. Despite spending Sunday lounging around watching the Bathurst car race I felt no back pain. Monday (yesterday) Marion and I went for a ski tour. Again I dosed up on painkillers and although feeling pretty sore after almost 4 hours on the range, I awoke this morning with my lower back feeling much better than at any time during the past 2 months.
The main range snow was variable but always fun. Mostly with a little soft on firm it varied depending upon both aspect to sun and vertical steepness. There was some breakable ice (probably frozen rain), some soft dry powder (probably wind blown) and more. The temperature hardly rose above zero and the 20+ kph wind kept the wind chill way below zero all day.
Around 5pm yesterday it started snowing and continued into the dark hours, settling in the village.

And more - it appears someone has ridden what is possibly
one of Australia's steepest chutes, before the latest melt

With last nights snowfall the main range will be freshened up and provide some good touring for a while yet.
Just to show I'm feeling better - here's a Grump.
Last Friday, returning from Jindabyne, I found the Pass Holders' Lane at the park entry closed, even though it was still ACT, VIC & NSW school holidays.
