Post Blues 2009

The Thredbo Blues Festival went off in spectacular weather. The village was full and the music was great – as usual.

Due to other commitments I didn’t get to see as much as I have in the past but I did get to the second dance lesson with Annie. A large crowd turned up to be put through their paces by the professional swing dances who have been generously giving their time over the years to introduce us ordinary folk to the many varied ways of walking, sliding, stomping, shuffling and tripping about a dance floor. Blues dancing appears to be about up-close body contact and get-down-and-dirty gyrations. Great stuff. No one complained about my steel capped work boots either.

The next big sound in Thredbo will be the Country Music Channel festival on Friday Flat in March.

The weather has warmed up again but afternoon thunderstorms seem to be the norm. If it gets any hotter I may just have to get away for cooler climes.

Grumpy Report:
There is some interesting information going around about MSG (and its variant names) being the cause of obesity. I’m not going to post the whole thing here but do a google on "Blowing the whistle on MSG" and see what I’m talking about.
