Farewell
Farewell to skiing in the resort, farewell to Cassie and Brad and farewell to all the wonderful staff who have been and who will be packing up and moving on for summer.
It's over! I made first chair this morning and after just one run down the Supertrail I knew I didn't want to go back for another - despite wearing my throw-away rock hoppers. With overnight temps way above zero the slopes have been like ice cream the last two days.
I'm not sure whether I want to thank or curse management for that one last run. Beggars can't be choosers and I would have been disappointed if I hadn't had the opportunity to see it for myself.
It is most unfortunate for those on school holidays and the local businesses that the resort is closing for snow riding. This week’s school holidays have been the quietest I have seen and conditions this week will not enhance advance bookings for next year.
This is the end

After I had finished
I’ll let Jethro have the last word
With luck, we will have a return to overnight freezes and a few more snowfalls that will let us get a some turns on the main range.
Thanks to all the lift staff, the groomers, the cleaners, the kitchen staff and Ski Patrol for giving us a short but sweet winter season on the slopes in the resort.
Farewell to Brad and Cassie who are moving permanently to Snowmass, Colorado. We wish you all the best in your new life and hope to see you when you revisit Thredbo. Crackenback won't be quite the same.
Grumpy Report: Daylight saving is back this weekend. Thanks to the listener who emailed Adam Spencer on ABC radio this morning with this beauty in regards to Daylight Saving, which goes something like this:
“A wise old Indian in Arizona said that some white people think you can cut 12 inches off the top of a blanket and when you sew it back on the end of the blanket you will have a longer blanket”.
