What A Difference A Day Makes

Top to bottom skiing and boarding on Supertrail, World Cup and High Noon. Sundowner is open but has a poor cover at the bottom, as does the bottom of High Noon and Supertrail. One more good night of snow making should see the lower runs in much better condition.

Yesterday I had a couple of runs from the top of Snowgums to the village. World Cup was ungroomed and untracked (OK, one skier got there before me). It was, how do I say “tres technical” but I loved every moment of the freshies. It was sort of forming a thin icy crust on top with goop underneath. The groomers were fun but thin at Ski-In Ski-Out.

The mizzle (misty drizzle) that fell on the snow pack froze overnight leaving a very firm base with pockets of dry wind-blown snow up high. Cats were working on the T-bar runs today but I don’t know how soon they will open.

The sky is blue and only a faint breeze could be felt. A lovely day to be out and many were. By late morning when I came off the hill, there were significant queues on Kosi chair and Cruiser.

My favourite was off the side of Eagle Way on some firm but very dry snow. Eagle Way looks great, as does the Cat Walk. The snow cover is quite good above mid station and not so good below. There are still lots of early season rocks to be found both up top and down low. Yes, I found one.
