If You Go Up To The Hills Today …

You ‘re sure to get a surprise. There is still a little snow on the main range. I saw a small patch of the Kosi cornice and even a smaller patch out near Kosciuszko Lookout. It won’t last long.

From the village, the slopes look as though they have browned off severely. In actual fact the slopes are very moist and in many places extremely green. The reddish brown is the seeding of long, long grasses, the depth of such I can’t remember.

Wild flowers can still be found all over the mountains. Mixed with the myriad of grass blooms, the slopes are taking on the appearance of the canvas of a mad artist.

The clouds have now rolled in, the temperature is back down to a pleasant low 20C and there are rains and thunderstorms forecast for the next few days.
