3 Weddings and a Knee Job

Cassie and James came all the way from Melbourne to Thredbo for a wedding while I went to Merimbula for a wedding and if my memory serves me correct, Penny and Dave got married on Saturday. Meanwhile Ray had his knee reconstructed on Friday – ouch.

It has rained a lot, pretty much every day. The creeks and rivers are raging. The Snowy River had a good flow over the weir at Dalgety and the Bobundara was a raging river on Friday afternoon – over its banks. Everything is, as you might think, green. Lake Jindabyne is rising.

Outdoor exercise is a challenge. Not slipping and sliding on wet grass and mud is part of the trial but just getting around without being rained upon is difficult. The flies don’t seem to mind – worse luck.

Annie and I attended opening night of ‘Dimboola’, presented by Spectrum in Merimbula. One of the best weddings I have ever attended. The hall was packed, the food was good, the crowd involved, the cast both talented and well cast in their roles and we had a great night out.

Looks like it will be raining again soon. I believe that Kosi chair will reopen next weekend but don’t hold me to it.

Ray: Hope your recovery is going well?

It is also a sad time for Thredbo. Doctor Peter Duval died last Friday from cancer. Peter was an important and long serving volunteer on the Thredbo Ski Patrol as well as a good friend to all. Our thoughts go out to Gerrie and his family.
