A Change In Reporting

Unlike the many snow reports this year that seemed to exaggerate the depth of new snow, this morning’s report of 5cm of fresh was a friendly under estimation. From my first ride up Kosi chair this morning the new snow at the top looked sticky but was surprisingly wonderful as far as Kareela. I luckily found a fresh track left by a returning snowcat, which gave me a fun line of short turns all the way to the cat shed then it was firm to the base. Drizzle rode with Jaxster and I back up as far as Kareela and as the Basin was now open we dropped in. Karels and the Basin Rim were fantastic with a healthy 10cm fresh layer on an icy base.

Not quite the dump we and the bureau were expecting but I’m not one to look a gift fall in the mouth.

The cloud dropped down around 10am and the off piste became sticky and slow. A coffee at Eagle's Nest and then off the mountain.

My computer has had a motherboard transplant and I’ve borrowed and purchased enough bits to get me online again.

Lovers Leap is now out of action as are all runs into the village except those with a man made base.

There’s not much in the forecast. Out of the resort looks like a go this weekend.
