Still Clear
It has been still and clear all weekend under the influence of a high pressure system. The temperature has been quite cold at night but around zero during the day. The snow quality remains great and the groomers have been exciting. The crowds were big yesterday but more manageable today. The off piste while not icy has firmed up somewhat but I’m still coping fine with edgeless rock hoppers. The first hour each day has been fast and fun on the groomers to the point of bringing tears to our eyes behind our goggles. After 9:30 the increasing crowds meant decreasing the speed on the main runs and then moving around to find some free space.
As an indication of the temperatures, there is still snow on the ground in the village square. Bunny Walk was groomed and at some stage so was Lovers Leap although it was pretty slick when I came through around midday today. High Noon was very nice and Dream Run was fine on the edge of the top half while below the bridge the cover is thin. The T-bar runs are very nice as is most of the resort. I have been informed that Dead Horse Gap and the out of resort areas have all been nice. There were a lot of tracks leading to DHG when I picked up friends early this morning.

The Masters is on next Saturday and it is more than possible that we will get the course set from the top of the Rossi Racecourse to the tennis courts. The snow is very nice down this line.
The big flare run to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of the Thredbo slide is on the following Monday. With all the other events on the next week or two should be very busy.
