Lightning Never Strikes Twice

Oh yes it does. The weather station at Eagles Nest got a blast on Thursday and the weather station was once again seriously fried. And it wasn’t till Saturday morning, when the Kosciuszko Express was started up for Jazz weekend, that it became obvious that some electrics on the chair were also damaged.

We did not get the Jazz weekend snowfall that has dropped the temperatures by so much over the past few years but the weather was pretty well near-perfect. Luckily the gale force winds of Thursday had abated by the time Jazz got under way.

Apart from the weather, the high point of the weekend was, for me, the show put on by James Morrison together with John Morrison’s band and two special guests. Unfortunately the low point has to be the way tickets were distributed for the two James Morrison shows. I don’t want to dwell on this but we all hope that the Chamber of Commerce quickly realises how very up set and angry many people were when they suddenly found out they had no chance to see James Morrison. Hopefully this kind of ticketing debacle never happens again for any event here or outside of Thredbo. Enough said.

Now the weekend is over, all appears quiet once more. We have had a light drizzle of rain and work around the village and on the slopes is in top gear preparing for winter.
