Summer Activities - Thredbo Style

Everything Summer is happening around the village including the MTBA National Series. I believe a lot of soil was added to Friday Flat to form the 4x4 course. Unfortunately I didn't get to see the weekend's adventures as I was out of town getting some cultural refreshment.

The massive drop in temperature experienced on Friday got rid of the flies and put us back in long sleeves - lovely. The weather warmed up over the weekend but even today it is still very pleasantly cool.

Apart from the golf, swimming, fishing, walking, mountain biking and other summer sports, there is some serious packing going on for those who will be soon enjoying the snows of the northern hemisphere. Amongst these were Lynne & Ray who tested their new ABS Avalanche Air Bag systems. I had never seen these before and I was in the right place at the right time to see how they worked. The ABS system is reportedly the bees' knees in avalanche survival. Although the instructions said that the system would not go off with a bang, we all stood back as they were deployed.

Santa will be in the Village Square next weekend. I'll be in Sydney over Christmas and my next report may not be until the New Year long weekend.

I would like to wish you all a happy and safe Christmas break and a special "Get out of Hospital Soon" to Toni (after heart surgery) and to Kamilla and her newborn son.

Don’t forget to do your bit to return Kosciuszko Park entry fees back to something reasonable? Click here. Annual passes are now $190 - well and truly more than double last year's fee of $88.
