Take A Walk On The Wild Side

I made first chair again today. I just had to be there to see Rosco start his 100th day this season.

The pictures say just about everything. I had one run (call that a walk and a run) down Supertrail – it was very brown and still brown when we eventually got to the snow. The worst was Eagle Way and Bunny Walk turn. We then returned to the top and had coffee at Eagles Nest while waiting for Basin T-bar to start – there were some technical difficulties in the NW wind gusting up to 111km on the restaurant wind meter.

A run down the Basin on corduroy and an interesting ride back up dodging the boulders. We took advantage of the untracked cord and went back down, only to return to the top of Kosi chair. The walk to the Bluff was shorter and easier than the walk down Eagle Way but we still had to walk back to the Supertrail below Kareela.

Enough said. I didn’t damage my skis in any way that you would notice (they’re already showing bare metal in several places) so I called it a day and left Rosco heading towards Merritts.

Snow is forecast. If it falls on snow then we should get a reprieve on the end of the main range cover. As for the resort … I suspect that there won’t be much open tomorrow. A metre of dry snow would help ;-)
