Middle to Bottom
The Thredbo Top to Bottom race was on this Saturday. Due to lack of snow, the start was from the top of SnowGums chair rather than the top of Karels T-bar. The course was very firm and fast. Beautifully groomed slopes and strategically placed gates resulted in a wonderful race for each of the 5 divisions.
I attempted to video the race from within the veterans pack but operator error (possibly due to the heat of the moment) meant that I accidentally set the camera to full zoom and there was nothing worth watching. The sound track was interesting. Oh well, there’s always next year.
This weekend was the busiest of the season so far. Ramshead chair was on stand by but I didn’t actually see it operating. Four of us decided to escape the crowds and headed out back for a very lazy lunch. Meanwhile some 180 competitors were on the Rossi racecourse for the Interclub race.
After a rather liquid lunch overlooking Cootapatamba we skied back to Signature Hill. The run down the north face was so nice we trudged back up for another two runs.
With a somewhat tired body and more crowds in the resort, I decided that today I would attempt another turn at kite skiing out towards Kosi lookout but true to my luck this season, the wind dropped shortly after I launched the kite.

Thanks to all the groomers, course setters, sponsors, race marshalls and competitors for a great Top to Bottom.
The forecast is for some snow on Monday night and again late Thursday.
