A Week of Big Notes
Last week the Australian Speed and Marathon Water Ski Championships were held in Jindabyne. Quite a spectacle and the roar of the big boat engines could be heard from every corner of the lake.
After early showers the weather for the rest of the week was warm and sunny – pretty near perfect for water skiing on Lake Jindabyne and watching the Blues in Thredbo this past weekend.
The 12th Thredbo Blues Festival was a delight. Big names like The Foreday Riders, Jeff Lang, The Lemon Squeezin Daddies, Mia Dyson, Bo Jenkins, Chubby Rae & The Elevators & The Harry Brus Band came to the village with many more to perform. From late morning to early morning, the village rocked, no more so than at the final jam session in the Keller Bar. I don’t know when it finished … I left sometime after 3:00am this morning. After so many hours on my feet I just had to take the pressure off. By the silence in the village this morning, I take it that the jam session went much longer than I.

Cloud in the valley with welcome rains
No, I didn’t take any night-time shots, partly because my camera does not take good night time photos, secondly because I thought I’d probably leave my camera behind somewhere and mainly because I just having too much fun.
Today the clouds have rolled in and it is raining. The rain is welcome, as the river has dropped to a very low level. Until the snows return it will only be the rains that will feed the streams and rivers.
