No Wash Out
The forecast rains just didn’t happen. We had a rain fall very early Friday morning but the teaming rain forecast for Friday, Saturday and Sunday did not eventuate. As a consequence we still have top to bottom riding – but only for the unaware or fool hardy. Bunny Walk station to Ramshead chair is a non-existent ski run. Personally I don’t mind if I have to walk over the patches – it’s still better than downloading and the upper half of the mountain is still fun.
Yesterday I followed an excited group out to South Ramshead (via Ramshead) and down to the road above Dead Horse Gap. We were enveloped in cloud much off the way and the snow was very sticky. We had to negotiate about 100m of shrubbery to reach the road. An interesting trek but not good skiing and one I doubt I will repeat this year.

Where’s the road? We’ve run out of snow
I can’t bring myself to quote the forecasts today but instead have my own personal forecast for the next week. There is a possibility of snow, a possibility of rain, and possible thunderstorms with possible sunny periods. Possible clouds with the possibility of wind and no wind. That about covers it except to say that it might be cold, cool, warm and/or hot next week.
One week to go in the resort. Hopefully a month or two on the main range.
