Miserable Weekend

But the Friday before and Monday after were just terrific. Clear blue skies and enough breeze to warrant taking out my kite on both days.

Having so many photos I want to share with you I have posted a separate report for Friday, which you can view by clicking here.

After miserable rains over the weekend Monday was a repeat of Friday only with slightly less wind. Acacia and I walked out along the Kosciuszko track to just before Cootapatamba lookout and then skinned up the valley and on to the top of Mt Kosciuszko. From here we skied down along the top of the cornice line and then dropped back down towards Cootapatamba crossing the creek below the lake.

Walking back up towards North Ramshead we skied across to Signature Hill and dropped back to Eagles Nest once more. The snow pack is still very good away from the western sun exposed areas and although softening was still very enjoyable.

The Kosciuszko Express closes after next weekend for maintenance, reopening briefly for the Snowy Ride and then closing for a further 4 weeks. The climb from Snow Gums chair will certainly add to the exercise regime.
