6 Weeks To Go

Yesterday, when I returned to Thredbo from a day out in the big smoke of Cooma, I was surprised to see snow had settled down to Kareela Hutte. Surprised because when I left Thredbo the temp was +6C and it was the same when I returned.

As dusk drew on the snow level dropped towards Bunny Walk station. Later last night I could see stars were out and so I wasn't expecting much this morning. It did snow some more, settling all the way down to the village. This fall has not been as big as the fall we had a couple of weeks ago but still it is nice to see.

The weather forecast is generally good for this weekend's Thredbo Jazz Festival but bring your woollies.

More snow is forecast for next week :-)

I believe this is the end of the mountain bike season until the end of the year. Kosi chair will soon close for maintenance and when it reopens it will be Snow Season 2017 :-)

As I wrap up this report there are still snow flakes floating past my balcony. I'll expand this report if there be need.
