Super Days On Sugar Ways?
Saturday, like the days before was a fine sunny and warm day. The temperature only dropped below zero for a very short time overnight and the groomers were soft from whoa to go.
Sunday started the same except for stringer winds but quickly dark clouds appeared on the horizon and hung around almost all day without doing anything.
High-speed runs were the order of the day for the first 30 minutes before anyone else ventured out and until we had chewed up and spat out the groomed.
The off piste was a tad firmer but even the bump runs were slush bump runs by 10am. The winds have once again being acting as a giant hair dryer across the Alps. Snow pack is thinning in places and more rocks and grass can be seen below mid station. Sundance has suffered while Sundowner and Hi Noon remain good. The Supertrail is also in good condition. There were patches of sticky snow off piste up high and the softness has settled deeply into the main range off piste. We need some good long frosty nights to reset the snow pack which is now much softer than on my last report.
Frank night was on last night and kept many a local off the slopes today. A few kiters could be found out of the resort but all were having less than a great time.
Supertrail below Bunny Walk station – great for a couple of runs then very sugary
Everything that funnels past Tower 10 is closed
Faster than a speeding bullet – I was unable to get a focused shot of Superman as he blasted onto the Cat Walk.
Sunday, like Saturday - The groomers were great but soft from the start

Waz with sloppy 4ths – it was wet and at times slow

There’s not much on the forecast front – may be later in the week if the highs don’t once again ridge across mainland Australia and block he upward movement of the cold fronts.
