Drought-Breaking
Much of Australia needs the rains that have been sweeping in from the east of the continent. Alas, Thredbo probably could have done without them.
After 5 days of brilliant sunshine a light drizzle started Tuesday night, intensifying and continuing through Wednesday and it is still raining lightly as I write this.
Prior to the rains the snow makers had been doing a valiant job keeping the bottom of the Supertrail and High Noon covered in white.
I’ll let the photos tell you the rest of the story.

There is snow forecast within this system. Showers should be turning to snow tonight from about 1500m and dropping to 1300m by Saturday.
Don’t despair completely, the ground is cold and should hold the new snows. Last Tuesday, up high, there was a reasonably thick and very solid base. I suspect only the lower areas and high traffic spots will suffer badly from these rains so badly needed by the farmers, city and townspeople. Good luck to them (especially Goulbourn).
