Still Waiting...

We have had almost 30mm of rain over the past few days, taking us way past last year’s precipitation for May.

Although happy to see rain (isn’t everybody in Australia at present) it has washed away much of the residual snow from the past two snowfalls that fell many weeks ago.

Snow is forecast for most of this week but then similar forecasts over the past two weeks are resulted in none.

The Kosciuszko Express is back in operation and all the signs of the impending season ahead are appearing. The padding is on the chairlift pylons, the red ropes are going up around the new on-slope plantations, winter staff are returning to the village and the builders and other tradespersons are frantically trying to complete their tasks before the long weekend in June.

The temperature is dropping and the upper half of the mountain is shrouded in cloud. I hope to bring you some more exciting news shortly.
