Autumn
The Kosciuszko Express Chairlift is now under extended Autumn maintenance. I understand that it will be open on weekends until the Thredbo Jazz Festival (first weekend in May) and then close completely until late in May. During the closed periods Snowgums Chair will take you slowly almost to the top.
The last of the mountain bike races was held on the weekend. The recent rain showers kept the dust at bay but some muddy patches made sure that both bikes and riders did not come away unscathed.
Work continues on the High Noon realignment. Will it be finished by the June long weekend? Only time will tell.
VALE Sally Walker
On a very sad note, I report that Sally Walker died on Monday morning after a tough battle with cancer. Many of you will know Sally from when she and husband Rob managed Kiama Ski Club in Thredbo as well as working diligently for the Thredbo Historical Society.
I will miss the great times skiing out back with Sally & Rob and will always remember her as the Queen of the Rocky Road dessert.
I know that the thoughts of many in Thredbo are with Rob and his family at this time. Sally's funeral is being held at 11am on Friday at the Shoalhaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Crematorium in East Nowra.
