Autumnal Changes
The mornings are generally misty and frosty clearing to beautiful clear-sky days. There are no flies and the breeze has been mostly mild. We have had a couple of thunderstorms with enough rain to green everything and all of a sudden the afternoons have shortened by about an hour.
The first round of the State Downhill Mountain bike competition was on this weekend. Easter is next weekend. We still have the Jazz festival in May before officially getting down to winter business. Unlike the past two years I have not yet skied in April 2009. For a short while the forecast looked like it might happen this week but may be not. These are the lazy hazy days of Autumn where we patiently await the white blanket to descend over the mountains.

I need to get in some exercise. I’m sure many of you do too. It will all be upon us only too quickly.
Telstra Grump Report: The Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman has written to me saying that failing Telstra releasing more information (buckley's), the TIO can go no further with my problem with Telstra and recommend I accept the compensation payment offered by Telstra. This offer is not even one third of the real costs suffered by me and my business and there has been nothing offered for the stress and frustration. My legal advisor says that there is little chance of me doing any better in a legal system actively discouraging claims under $10,000 against large corporations like Telstra. C'est la vie.
Without an Erin Brockovich to campaign for just and full compensation for all Telstra customers who have been treated less than poorly, I will take the compensation offered. Unfortunately the catch is that I must sign a Release stating I will no longer talk about the payment or this particular issue of Telstra twice disconnecting a phone line of mine in Thredbo for many months whilst failing to disconnect a phone line of mine in Sydney for many months.
Watching the Telstra share price and listing to the news from day to day, I suspect going into a protracted law suit may result in me seeing Telstra going bankrupt and out of business before I ever saw a dollar. Remember Onetel?
Enough said. Show me the money.
