OK - It can happen more than once

After reassuring management that we would not ski or board within the resort, six of us went out from Eagles Nest in search of a few turns. The cover was not as deep as the fortnight ago when we skied the Lakes Walk but how often do you get the chance to makes turns in April in Australia? Well, now it has been twice for three of our group.

Token boarder, Rob, headed off towards the north face of a rock-strewn Signature Hill. Peter, being the youngest and fittest, headed off towards Seaman’s Hut while the remaining four skinned up above Kozi Lookout to check conditions.

Our intrepid support team (Richard and Sally) left us and ended up walking to the top of Kosciusko.

The snow was softer than last time but there were drifts where you could pick a few turns before traversing to the next drift. The best I remember was 8 consecutive turns. Not a lot but a few hours of exercise, which actually generated some sweat in the –19C sunny wind chill.
