Cool Steps
Peter reports there has been little if no new snow in Rusutsu and consequently sent me a bunch of photos whilst they wait for the next dump.
I've been slack - it's the heat (30C+ in Thredbo Village yesterday) - and I've found I still have a bit of a back log.
So, below are photos sent a couple of days ago from Rusutsu where, if you are prepared to put in the leg work, there are still delights to be found.
I hope you enjoy the cooling effect of looking upon Peter's fantastic photos as much as I do:-
Back country touring fills Peter's days
Steep climbs reap rewards
With spectacular views
It's a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll
Reaching the peak where the wild things grow
Decision time
What goes up must come down
Surfing the peaks on Hokkaido
Hard climbs, good company and another untracked mountain top
Another day and more adventures
Cooler temps are forecast to return here to Thredbo tomorrow (Sunday) with a warm 13C. I note that yesterday was the coldest February day ever recorded in Perth, whilst today's forecast for north-west Sydney is 46C, which may be the hottest Feb day there? That's almost 115 degrees Fahrenheit on the old scale and way, way above the onset of Dave Syndrome at 88F.
