Vale William Robert (Bob) Arnott who died on Saturday 23 January 2016. The Thredbo Historical Society posts the following about Bob:-
Bob was an Honorary Life Member of our society and an Ambassador for our recently launched Thredbo Ski Museum Foundation.
He was a significant figure in Australian skiing as an Olympian, Australian FIS representative, President of NSW Ski Council and ASF Council member. In 1985 he researched and authored a study of snow areas worthy of future development. In the pioneering days of computing Bob was an engineer with English computing company Ferranti and involved in the development of its iconic Ferranti Mark 1 computer..
