Summer Reconnaissance
The Kosciuszko chairlift reopened yesterday, after a month's maintenance, and so I thought a little look out the back was in order. I went out in a thin cotton shirt and by mid-station I had my jacket on. The wind-chill was surprisingly low up top. Even with the sun shining, it was almost cold enough to put on gloves.
After nine days of super hair-dryer hot winds and some heavy rain showers to boot, the snow pack has been severely depleted. Yes, I know it is December and only 3 weeks to Christmas but Santa's sleigh lands best on snow ;-)

If the current weather patterns continue as forecast there may be a little snow during the week but experience has taught me that the weather patterns can shift a long way from what the bureau thinks will happen a few days in advance.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
