Ruby Tuesday
Another perfect day at the beach and I had it all to myself. The swell was full with a light onshore breeze and the temperature between +9C and 13C. I only wore my shell up the chair then it was just the rashie (ok, it was a thin cotton top;-) for the rest of the trip.
With the Rolling Stones on the iPod, lots of sunscreen and sun hat, a thermos for morning coffee and a few light snacks to take me past my normal lunch time - I had another great morning on the water - actually 1-2cms of soft on a firm base - spring surfing at its best :-)
Merritts Creek swallowing the snow pack
North Face is still excellent but you have to walk out (a little)
At the base of every drift the thaw brings streams to life
I spent most of my time on the Main Face
Tracks from today, last Friday and the Sunday before
The third and final chapter in the life of a snow bridge
(refer to earlier reports for chapters 1 & 2)
The longest continuous run was extreme left (skier's right)
and it won't be there for long
Snappy from the bridge
Black Sallees has opened whilst Snow Gums chair provides uploading this month. Drop in and say 'hi' to Ruby, Kylie and crew. Better still, get a drink and something to eat.
After tomorrow, the forecast is not looking so promising for another ski until next week. All the previous forecasts for snow seem to have vaporised - mind you it felt cold enough in the village last night.
It just could be that the fat lady will perform this week :-(
