A World of Opposites

More photos have arrived from Japan where the snow gets deeper and deeper. Although a long weekend in Japan, the weather conditions seem to have kept the crowds down.

Meanwhile, I enjoyed an extended outdoor lunch in Thredbo yesterday. With well over a dozen types of cold beer from four boutique brewers and four delicious varieties of King Island cheese accompanied by a KT BBQ, live music, a beer brewing demonstration and an enthusiastic crowd, it made for a wonderful way to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon.

The scene beside the pool under a mid twenties sun with a gentle breeze was a typical Aussie Summer scene. Armed with hats, sunscreen and sunnies, locals and visitors dropped in for a very well organised free tasting of beer and cheese.

After 3 hours of sun, beer, cheese & BBQ, I took my leave from the humming throng, very glad to have finally made it to my first Kosciuszko Thredbo Craft Beer Festival.

How cool to have your own mobile brewing kit to take on those BBQ trips :-)

My understanding is that more snow is due in Japan whilst temps are due to rise a little higher in the Snowy Mountains over the next couple of days before cooling off for the Thredbo Blues Festival next weekend.
