It's Gone

Summer Drift and Signature Hill are devoid of snow. The weather has been quite warm and Thredbo has now swung into full Summer mode with the flies and grasshoppers out in numbers. The alpine wild flowers continue to surprise even though the early buds are now burning off in the high altitude sunshine.

Thanks to the recent rains, the ground remains moist and green. This can require care negotiating some of the bigger wooden steps on the nature trails where wet wooden stair treads can be slippery.

I’m off to the latest Thredbo Players Shakespearian adventure tonight. As the weather looks fine, I expect there will good numbers taking a picnic dinner to the village green. More about that in my next report.
